Albumin is one of the most important proteins in your blood: it keeps fluids in balance, transports substances, stabilises pressure in your vessels. Normally it stays where it belongs — in the blood. When it appears in urine, it means: something valuable is being lost that should actually be retained. The filters have become permeable.
