Your Body Is Speaking

Albinism is a genetic particularity — the body produces little or no melanin. The skin stays light, the hair white, the eyes sensitive to light. Medically it is a pigmentation disorder. From a psychosomatic perspective, albinism tells a story about visibility, belonging, and the courage to arrive fully in this life.

The body presents itself in its purest, most uncoloured form — as if wanting to say: I am here, but I have not quite coloured myself in, not quite given myself over, not quite immersed in the earthly, the bodily, the visible.

Albinism is the signal of a being who came into life with the feeling of being different — and who has yet to recognise this differentness as a strength.
